The Jordan Royal Bride Wore a Gown with the Chicest Twist

This royal wedding look is one for the history books!

The royal wedding of Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan and Rajwa Al-Saif delivered fairytale pomp and splendour but nothing could outshine the bride's dress. The Saudi Arabian-born architect was a vision of sophistication on her big day. The bride wore a custom ivory wedding dress by Lebanese designer Elie Saab, and in a move that shocked a lot of the Jordan royal wedding watchers - she also wore flat bridal shoes. The column gown is simply a must-see-at-all-costs dress for brides who are looking for an elegant gown with a modern twist.

Wedding dresses with asymmetrical necklines were a huge bridal trend for spring summer 23 (another heavy-hitter being beguiling blue dresses and bold blue accents which you can see more of here). While brands like Anne Barge, Nadia Manjarrez Bridal, Romona Keveza, Safiyaa, and Theia, incorporated the silhouette in their collections for this summer season, it's a stylish accent that will certainly have mileage for years to come.

Rajwa's wedding dress is a perfect case in point why. What is so majestic about it is the contrast of the sharpness of the neckline compared with the soft draping along the bodice that hugs her curves so sublimely. The dress is refined but the sliver of skin and the wrap effect make it sophisticatedly sensual. The Jordan royal bride accessorised with U-shaped chandelier earrings and d'Orsay-style flats. Yes, you read that right... the bride wore flats, and they looked so elegant! (We have a whole post on fabulous bridal flats here!).

Sweetly, the bride's "something borrowed" was her mother-in-law, Queen Rania of Jordan's Arabic Scroll diamond tiara. While it was a glittering addition to the ensemble, we couldn't tear our eyes off the top of her dress. While the gown was devoid of embellishment, it wasn't missed. The laser-cut flowers on the detachable train amped up the magic. Her veil also made a statement as it sported large 3D floral embroidery and applique.

A special mention to the towering seven-tiered wedding cake that was dressed with dark purple and light blue edible flowers.
