Bright Summer Florals & Bridesmaids in Raspberry: Sarah & Chris

Featuring six adorable flower girls!

This real wedding transports us to sunny West Cork for Sarah and Chris' spectacular floral-filled wedding day. Featuring an aisle lined with vibrant dried flower arrangements and a team of six adorable flower girls, Fernhill House Hotel served as the ideal host for the couple's picture-perfect outdoor ceremony. Awash with bright pops of pink, crimson and raspberry, Sarah's mix-and-match bridesmaid's dresses are not to missed. Wonderfully captured by Kyrstin Healy Photography, check out their charming celebration below

Before we dive into the details of their colourful day, let's get to know the happy couple a bit more! "We met, as many love stories do with a chance meeting… on the dating app Bumble!" With Chris living in West Cork and Sarah in Dublin, the couple dated for over a year but parted ways when the distance proved too difficult. "But just over two years later, after a mad series of twists and turns in both of our lives, fate brought us together again. We now split our time between West Cork and Dublin!"

Fast forward to their engagement, Chris' plan to propose did not go accordingly. After originally planning to get down on one knee on Garnish Island, the weather went against them so Chris drove to Castletownbere hoping for a break in the torrential rain. "It was getting to the point that I was so fed up with him suggesting random places to drive to in the rain that he knew if he didn't get on with it that there would be second breakup that day (if not something more drastic!) and not an engagement." Luckily, Chris was eventually able to pop the question in the Eccles Hotel with a view of Garnish Island in the background!

Our glowing bride Sarah opted to wear a stunning off-the-shoulder Ines Di Santo gown paired with fabulous Loeffler Randal heels and an impactful bouquet filled with daisies, sunflowers, peopnies and pretty foliage. Inspired by Chris' passion for biodiversity and nature, wild flowers and plenty of colour were a natural choice for the couple's statement floral arrangements.

Feeling as though they were in the south of France, the sun beamed down on Sarah and Chris' spectacular outdoor ceremony set against a backdrop of the surrounding woodland of Fernhill House Hotel. Marked by plumes of dried flowers, pampas grass and greenery, Sarah walked down the stone aisle to Brandi Carlisle's version of The Promise by Tracy Chapman preformed by Chris' sister Julie and his two nieces.

Indulging in another of Chris' loves - birdwatching - the tables were named after bird Irish birds. After indulging in some delicious looking Irish oysters and enjoying live music the couple had a fabulous photoshoot on the grounds of Fernhill House Hotel amongst the cherry bloosom trees.

Sarah's bridesmaids picked out their own dresses according to their style and taste based on a colour palette chosen by Sarah. Featuring a vibrant array of raspberry pink shades and rich crimson hues, her bridesmaid's found their pretty gowns in Rixo, Solace London, Massimo Dutti and MISA Los Angeles.

Sarah and Chris had this advice for couples embarking on their own wedding planning journey: "Choose your photographer wisely as they are with you for the majority of the day. We chose to get a second photographer for the day so Kyrstin’s partner Rafa was there too. I would highly recommend that people get a second photographer if your numbers are big.  It is a big payoff for a relatively small fee in the grand scheme of things."

With a guestlist of around 280 people, the couple wanted their wedding to be relaxed and fun and for everyone to feel looked after. "Our priority from the beginning was a celebration of not only our marriage but also to celebrate one of the most important parts of both our lives – which is our friends and our family."

"We didn’t have a first dance, the party took off from the beginning and we wanted to be in the middle of it and not dancing on our own on the dancefloor!"

Following on from the busy wedding festivities, the pair headed off to Kerry for a long weekend visiting the Skellig Islands. "It was an amazing weekend and the Skelligs is out of this world. Honeymoon (once we actually organise it) will be New Orleans and West Coast of America."
