A Winter Wonderland: Laura & Ronan's Dromquinna Manor Wedding

A day filled with romance, sweetness and elegance

We are bringing you a gorgeous winter real wedding anybody would dream of from Laura and Ronan. The couple who both hail from Co. Kerry had their nuptials at Dromquinna Manor which exceeded all their expectations and allowed them to have their dream winter wedding day despite restrictions that were in place. This wedding day was elegant, stylish and full of romance with candlelit tables and a picture-perfect setting. These stunning images by Awake and Dreaming Photography will show you exactly what we mean. Ready, set - let's go!

This dress from The One Bridal was just exquisite. Tiered layers of pleated tulle gave a dreamy ruffled silhouette, complemented by the fitted corset bodice and sheer sleeves - it was Laura's dream gown. "My wedding dress was a custom blush dress made by designer Alena Leena. I worked closely with the lovely Sinead Corcoran from The One bridal boutique in Dublin who liaised with the designer to help create my absolute dream dress."

We asked the lovely couple how they met and they told us that it was one fateful night in 2012 at a bar in Tralee. Laura says, "Ronan was meant to move to Oz three months later, but decided to stick around… and the rest is history!"

Ronan's black velvet tuxedo was a made-to-measure suit from Louis Copeland & Sons and was very dapper indeed, and certainly complemented his bold wedding ring choice of a custom-made palladium band with black diamonds.

The vintage Beauford car was courtesy of Laura’s uncle who brought it the whole way from Westmeath to chauffeur the couple in for the day - complete with personalised number plates! He wasn't the only one to add a personal touch to the day for the couple, their close friend Barry sang as Laura walked up the aisle while their two other friends, Mary Jo and Lisa, sang a song each during the ceremony too. Also, the music at the ceremony was mainly instrumental with the violins and cello giving major Bridgerton vibes to the occasion. Showing off his creative skills too, Ronan made the fabulous wooden welcome sign as seen outside the church!

The proposal came while the couple were abroad in Jamaica in 2019 and Laura says Ronan was so nervous he asked before they even made it to the main course! "He pulled out all the stops by organising a private dinner for the two of us under a gazebo out on the water… fairytale stuff! He was so nervous he dropped to one knee and proposed before the starter even came out."

Laura opted for chic black floor-length gowns for her bridal party, and chose Alex Perry dresses from The Ivory Closet for her three bridesmaids.

The couple said that the most important part of their day was having everyone together and the pandemic really emphasised this for them. Luckily they were able to invite 100 guests to their celebration. "The most important thing in the world to us was that all our family and friends were there. I think Covid really put things into perspective and taught us not to sweat the small stuff."

When it came to picking a venue, these two knew Dromquinna Manor was the place they wanted to wed as soon as they laid eyes on it. "Dromquinna Manor is such an intimate and picturesque venue," explains Laura. "We felt so relaxed and at home there from the moment we walked in. We loved the idea of having the entire manor to ourselves and we think that’s what made it so personal and intimate on the day. The roaring open fires, grand piano and wooden panelling throughout the manor really made it ‘the one’ for our winter wedding."

The soft candlelight, decor and beautiful floral arrangements was all created by Flowers From The Secret Garden which really amped up the romance of the day. This was all captured on film by the couple's videographer VowArt.

A huge thank you to Laura and Ronan for sharing their gorgeous winter wedding at Dromquinna Manor. A special mention to Awake and Dreaming Photography for these gorgeous images. There are more beautiful pictures for you to swoon over in the gallery below!
