Everlasting Love: Wendy & David's Cliffs Of Moher Vow Renewal

60 years of love, this couple's Celtic vow renewal is goals!

This real wedding is actually not a wedding at all but a celebration of a very happy marriage that has stood the test of time. Wendy and David have been married for 55 years and decided to have their vow renewal in the dreamy setting of O'Brien's tower on the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare. Carried out by a Celtic monk, this ceremony was full of love and celebrates all things Irish. Images were captured beautifully by Mike Mulcaire Photography and we are in love with the result. Warning: you may need tissues for the level of sweetness you're about to witness with this Cliffs of Moher vow renewal!

We asked the couple how they met and David tells us simply, "We met one another 60 years ago in high school and fell in love."

David reminisces about their proposal saying, "The proposal was a surprise for Wendy and took place in a romantic setting by wooded pond. Wendy thought we were going there to do some sketching," he laughs.

This is not the first time that the couple have renewed their wedding vows to each other. In fact, this was the eighth time the couple renewed their vows. We asked why they chose Ireland and David said they couldn't think of a more a beautiful ceremony, that would continue what he describes as their "amazing love affair." How sweet is that!

We adore Wendy's lavender bouquet which is a mix of deep purple and white shades.

"We included traditional elements of a Celtic ceremony. We exchanged Claddagh rings and handfasting. My wife had a gold good luck horseshoe sewn into the hem of her gown and she carried a lace handkerchief. Her bouquet contained wildflowers including lavender," says David.

This vow renewal was extra special as it marked a major milestone for the two. "This one is in celebration of our 55th wedding anniversary.  The location and the ceremony were very romantic. The Cliffs of Moher are beautiful. The Celtic ceremony was performed by Dara, a Celtic monk, and was very meaningful."

The love birds spent their honeymoon in Dromoland Castle which they really loved Their advice for anyone planning a wedding is simple and wise: "Follow your hearts."

A huge thank you to this inspiring couple for sharing their gorgeous Cliffs of Moher wedding day with us. A special thank you also goes to Mike Mulcaire for these stunning images. There are more tear-jerking pictures in the gallery below!
