The real wedding couple chose an out-of-this-world venue as they tied the knot at Badia di San Vittore in Cingoli which has an astoundingly rich history, it was formally a monastery and before that it was a Roman temple. With ivy snaking up the ancient walls and the grounds encased by centuries-old trees with bewitching gardens, this lush wonderland was a mesmerising backdrop to their uber-chic nuptials. Let's begin by getting to know our newlyweds. Australian beauty Natalie is from Sydney while Marco is Italian. They met in 2014 in a bar in Sydney and today they call the vibrant city home.

Marco caught Natalie completely by surprise when he proposed to her. He picked a gorgeous location to pop the question too, a secluded cottage near the lush, tranquil and epically beautiful Kangaroo Valley which is south of Sydney.

The couple dreamt of tying the knot in a rustically romantic venue. They fell in love with Badia di San Vittore for its rustic charm, its Roman era heritage and because of the planning team and catering service behind it who would go on to bring their big day to life flawlessly.

They wanted their wedding on September 8th, 2023, to be a "casual and fun day" and something that suited them as a couple. They describe it as being a "long, fun, 'fat' Italian wedding" and taking one look at their wonderful wedding photos will assure you that they had one incredible party with their 84 guests.

Natalie utterly wowed in a body-celebrating French lace wedding dress which had a stunning exposed back, a fishtail skirt with a high slit in the front and an amazing 120cm train. Pretty pearls informed her accessories from her hoop earrings to her bridal heels. She wore floral hair pins and completed her wedding look with an ethereal cathedral veil.

Colourful suits have become such a popular groom style trend and Marco looked dapper to boot in his maroon tux with black lapels. They did a lot of "non-traditional” things on the day. "We kept it simple, we didn't even have a bridal party." They tied the knot in a sun-kissed ceremony in the woods and their flowers took our breath away.

Bouquets of delicate baby's breath and large white roses stood on white pillars while a sparkling chandelier hung overhead. It was a multi-lingual celebration as family members jetted in from all over the world and Natalie's brother and Marco's sister officiated the ceremony. Marco's sister led the ceremony in Italian, and then Natalie's brother in English.

The groom's sister included a surprise song right at the very end. With the blissfully happy couple and the fairytale setting, we wager the guests were reaching for their tissues.

Soaked in history, the venue is packed with stunning spaces with ancient Roman remains, no doubt their guests were left speechless and feeling like they had stepped back in time.

Their celebrations oozed sensational style from all angles and they even had a Vespa in the mix.

We have loads of tips on how to create a fabulous wedding tablescape that will wow your guests, Natalie and Marco's open-air reception made our jaw drop. Long wooden tables were placed down in the vast garden and they spoke to the rusticism of their theme while transparent Chiavari chairs brought a gentle dash of glamour.

Lush foliage and white blooms ran the entire length of the reception tables and white taper candles were placed in glass cylinders bringing a romantic glow as soon as the sun started to set. The demure white wedding menus bore personalised names and were finished with delicate white baby's breath.

Surrounded by towering trees and the picturesque gardens from all sides with a view of the ivy-covered manor, it was a verdant paradise to celebrate their true love.

Is there a chicer way to toast to your happily ever after than with a champagne tower?

When it comes to planning a wedding, the couple advise: "There is already enough pressure on the day, so plan your day around your personal preferences and tastes. The day goes by so fast, so don’t forget to take small breaks throughout the day and evening for yourself and take it all in."

Bride and groom walk outside during Italian wedding

Cingoli in the province of Macerata is known as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. The couple's wedding photos at sunset were nothing short of sensational.

Our hearts skipped a beat when we found out about their first dance. The couple kicked tradition by sharing the moment together away from their wedding party and they returned to the very place they said their 'I dos' . "It was a 'secret' dance, just the two of us and the photographers recording and taking photos." They danced to All of Me by John Legend.

Natalie and Marco continued their celebrations by travelling to Sicily. They soaked up the stunning sights of Taormina, Panarea and Palermo the week after while they were in Italy. Their glamorous honeymooning didn't end there as they treated themselves to a two-week stint in the Philippines at the end of the year.

Thank you so much to Natalie and Marco and Dandelion Studio for sharing their utterly sensational wedding with One Fab Day.
