Testimonials

Just a short note to thank you all most sincerely and from the bottom of our hearts for what was literally a life changing experience for Ruth and myself.

Your attention to detail and the manner in which you dealt with not only us but all of our guests was outstanding. You should be very proud of everything you have achieved as a team !

From the minute we arrived on Friday night, I felt very much like I owned the hotel. The staff had all been informed who we were and were constantly at our beck and call. Because it is such a small intimate venue I dont think there was anyone except for my wedding guests in the hotel for the entire weekend. Again, it felt like we owned the place! We had a beautiful dinner with my family and my husbands family on the Friday night. The staff had set up a large square table for 20 people in a special private room, and gave us a very good value three course meal. The food and wine, as usual, was beautiful.

The Grounds of the hotel looked beautiful. There were newly planted flowers in the flowerbed, and the view over Lake Corrib was unbelivable. After the church, we arrived back to Lisloughrey to find the red carpet had literally been rolled out and Aoife and Niall stood waiting to greet us, along with a butler and glasses of champagne.

When we walked into the Reception hall, I was blown away. The place looked fantastic. They've recently redecorated, put down new carpet and replaced the chandeliers. Two thirds of the room is covered in windows looking out over the lake, so the place felt so bright and airy and summery. Even after the speeches, the room was still bright. I had left the centre pieces in the hands of the hotel staff, and they had produced lovely, simple, tall white flower arrangements. They were perfect.

To say the staff of the Lodge were fantastic, professional and kind is an understatement. The help we received across the board was unsurpassed and it will never be forgotten. For the friendly attitudes of so many to help getting trouser tailored last minute ( Anna!), every minute of the weekend and the day itself was magical to say the least.

We still tell people of how great the location, the organizing (Mairead) and the people were and are ( Gary and Robert). Though our fellow guests did not need any convincing and will definitely be returning to relive the whole experience.

You are all a credit to the hotel, to one another and to what the word hospitality truly means. We want you all to know that the weekend will forever be etched in our minds as so very special and we will make The Lodge a place to visit in time to come for many years, hopefully New Years 2014 if we get the chance!

This note cannot convey the hard work you all put in but please know it never went unnoticed.

Thank you all for making our wedding so special.

Andrew & Jennifer
